Greetings! I’m Carlynn Schwalm, LCSW, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Registered Yoga Teacher.
Connection allows us to feel seen, heard, cared for, loved, understood, and accepted. When connected, we have the support and encouragement to take risks, be vulnerable, and grow. At times, creating or sustaining connection can be challenging, and we feel isolated and disconnected from one another and ourselves. That’s where I come in, and if that sounds like you, you are in the right place!
Genuine growth is essential for our overall well-being, and I strive to provide an empathetic and grounded voice throughout our therapeutic journey. I approach my work with empathy, a sense of humor, and an unwavering dedication to my client’s well-being by fostering connection, warmth, safety, and security—essential components of personal growth. I aim to provide a nurturing space where vulnerability can become a strength and healing becomes a reality. My therapeutic approach utilizes mindfulness skills, self-compassion, attachment theory, and a person-centered lens applied through the framework of Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to empower my clients on the path to healing.
I have completed Levels 1 & 2 of EFIT, EFIT for Attachment Trauma, and the EFCT externship. I graduated from Walla Walla University with an MSW in Clinical Social Work and have continued to grow and learn by attending additional trainings in ADHD, MBSR, and more. I have experience working with adults, college students, and couples, as well as experience treating presenting concerns related to anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, identity, family of origin issues, and ADHD.
I am here to collaborate with you on your path to healing and growth. I believe therapy is a collaborative process, and I will work with you to address your needs while honoring your unique identity. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression, or relationship issues, I am here to provide the support and guidance you require to live a more fulfilled, healthy life.
Outside of the therapy room, you can find me reading, walking my geriatric blue heeler, and spending time outdoors.
Thanks for taking the time to learn about me! If you would like to learn more about how we might work together to address your specific concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out!
